Specifically, in the latest order granted to Bamboo Airways by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 12 special authorisation flights between Vietnam and the US are scheduled from September to November 2021, with departure and arrival points at key international airports: Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and Danang International Airport (Danang) in Vietnam; San Francisco International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport (California), and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Washington) in the US.
The first of these special authorisation flights is scheduled to operate to San Francisco on September 23, paving the way for a series of activities in the US, including the signing of a cooperation agreements with San Francisco International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, the opening of Bamboo Airways' official representative office in the US, working with Boeing aircraft manufacturer and agent partners, among others.
The US TSA approval granted to Bamboo Airways is considered a major milestone due to high safety and operational benchmarks required for international flight operations to the US. The TSA review procedure covers all aspects related to flight preparation and performance, including but not limited to security programme, crew, engineering, dispatching, ground services, passenger, and cargo information, among others.
As part of its strategic vision to build a 5-star airline, Bamboo Airways is currently partnering with the International Aviation Association (IATA) to pilot the IATA Travel Pass vaccine passport from the fourth quarter, preparing for the seamless reopening of international routes in general and nonstop flight network to the US in particular.
