The positive signs that the disease is well under control by the government have brought opportunities for businesses in some industries to resume operations. However, to be able to operate again, businesses must meet strict criteria to ensure safety for customers and employees alike.
The set of criteria for assessing safety in preventing and fighting against COVID-19 for food and beverage service providers in Ho Chi Minh City was issued on April 23 by the city Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention of COVID-19. The set of evaluation criteria includes 10 components, with a 10-point scale (10 points being the highest total safety level.
The criteria include the following details: a document testifying the origin of the raw materials with invoices detailing the area the goods have been imported from, certifications that food preservation and processing tools comply with food safety and hygiene standards. Additionally, establishments have to be kitted out with tools to prevent insects and adequate sanitation facilities for employees directly processing food and have to arrange dining areas that ensure safe distance between people. They also need to provide antiseptic hand sanitiser, perform regular disinfection, and keep utensils clean. All employees have to wear masks and have their body temperature needs to be measured before entering the workplace.
The inspection board inspects businesses in Ho Chi Minh City to score them and decide to permit reopening, including Rex Hotel Saigon.

During the pandemic, necessary meetings were conducted via applications and the internet, which was convenient but had to deal with many difficulties such as poor connection, background noise, disturbing surroundings, which has obstructed and reduced the quality of the meetings, making meetings less efficient.
