8 new cases of Zika in Singapore after 1-day respite

SINGAPORE: There were 8 new confirmed cases of locally transmitted Zika in Singapore confirmed on Wednesday (Sep 14), according to the latest figures on the National Environment Agency's website.

These bring the total number of cases to 341.

Four of the new cases are in the Aljunied/Sims Drive cluster, while the others are not linked to any of the other clusters, according to the updated information.

The additions come after a one-day respite on Tuesday, when no new cases were reported - the first time this happened since the first case of Zika in Singapore was reported on Aug 27.
