Vietnam has introduced two fiscal measures since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Resolution No.42/NQ-CP on supporting people was issued in April 2020 and included a support package of VND62 trillion ($2.69 billion) to aid 20 million workers who had lost jobs. A new VND26 trillion ($1.13 billion) support package under Resolution No.68/NQ-CP was announced in July 2021 to help workers affected by lockdowns and social distancing during the most recent wave of infections.
