Dear readers, As Vietnam Investment Review this week celebrates its 21st Anniversary, on behalf of the editorial board and staff of VIR, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you all for your faith and valuable support throughout the publication’s history.

>> VIR remains a business companion

Over the past 21 years VIR has grown into one of the most reliable, informative and influential business and economic newspapers in Vietnam. Despite the ups and downs and various challenges in our path, VIR has done the utmost to dig deepest into Vietnam’s information flows, keeping our readers updated with the economic, political and social life in the country.

Through almost 1,100 issues of VIR, we have ceaselessly worked to bring to light up-to-date, reliable information so that our readers—including policymakers, diplomats, businesspeople and members of international organizations—can have a better grasp on Vietnam, the Vietnamese and the regional situation. VIR also has continuously innovated in both format and style  to serve our readers better and better.

Most recently, from January this year, VIR has presented its new format with columns and a design in line with the newspaper’s slogan: “In Step With Businesspeople and Investors”. The new format makes it easier for our readers to navigate the news, with more focus on  business and investment circles. And the reader-friendly design aims to make reading VIR really a joy.

VIR has been a faithful partner to the business community

From July this year, Timeout – the supplement publication to VIR – has also been reorganised and turned into a monthly magazine. The primary concept behind this strategic move is to provide our readers with more comprehensive and interesting features and stories on leisure activities in Vietnam and regional countries. We expect the readers will welcome continuing innovations of both VIR and Timeout as they have in the past.

Looking ahead, VIR’s editorial board and staff are all aware that the mission to build an international-standard newspaper remains a big job, which cannot be done successfully without the great support from our valued readers and partners, as well as the proper direction from our management bodies, particularly the Ministry of Planning and Investment. We again sincerely thank you all for your valuable support and direction, and look toward your continued interest in VIR.

On the occasion of VIR’s 21st Anniversary, VIR’s editorial and staff wish our readers, partners and management bodies all the best.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan
VIR Editor-in-Chief
